  Portland Press Herald (ME) May 22, 1998 James Melvin Haskell Sr., 87, of Dirigo Road at Weeks Mills died Wednesday at Maine General Medical Center, Waterville. Born in China, he was a son of Albert Wilson and Georgia Averill Sprague Haskell, and attended Pigeon Plains School. He married Marion Lucinda Bowman here. Mrs. Haskell died in 1993. Mr. Haskell had worked as a woodsman for many years and for the Maine highway department, retiring after 30 years. Two sons, Lawrence and Charles Chub,'' died previously. Surviving are two sons, James M. Jr. and Gary L., both of Weeks Mills; four daughters, Vernie French of Weeks Mills and Betty Keene, Georgia Missy'' Watson and Virginia Wellman, all of Palermo; 40 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
