Sidney – Mrs. Virginia Harrington Haskell, 84, died Wednesday evening at the home of her granddaughter, Elaine Merrow, with whom she lived on the Mills Road, Sidney.
She was born in Tewksbury, Mass., April 14, 1900, the daughter of Charles and Edith Treadwell Bowman. He first husband, Timothy Harrington died in 1945 and her second husband, Albert Haskell died in 1967.
She was a member of the Boynton-Webber American Legion Post Auxiliary, South China. She was a cook and had been employed by Augusta area restaurants, hotels and nursing homes.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Sargent of Whitefield; Mrs. Madelyn Arnold of Manchester; Mrs. Florence Kaherl of Winthrop; Mrs. Arlene Mayo of Weeks Mills; a sister Mrs. Marion Haskell of Weeks Mills; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
