  The Kennebec Journal September 5, 1990 Weeks Mills – Lawrence Edward Haskell, 50, of Deer Hill Road, died Sept 1, 1990, at Kennebec Valley Medical Center, Augusta Division, of an apparent heart attack. He was born in Weeks Mills on Feb. 18, 1940, the son of James Melvin and Marion Lucinda (Bowman) Haskell and attended China schools. He was employed by the state for 32 years. He was a mechanic and welder for the Motor Transport Service in Augusta. He was also self-employed as a woodsman in this area. On February 21, 1959 he married Mary Rowena Heal. He is survived by his wife and parents of Weeks Mills; four sons, Lawrence E. Haskell, Jr., Daniel G. Haskell and Ronald D. Haskell, all of Weeks Mills, and Carl P. Haskell of South China; one daughter, Mrs. Eric (Laura) Hardesty of Weeks Mills; three brothers, Charles A. Haskell of Windsor, and James M. Haskell and Gary Haskell, both of Weeks Mills; four sisters, Mrs. Earnest (Georgia) Watson, Mrs. Alvin (Betty) Keene and Mrs. Sherwin (Virginia) Wellman, all of Palermo, and Mrs. Vivan (Vernie) French of Weeks Mills; nine grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
