LEOMINSTER - Sister Mary Lorraine Goodale, 73, with the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a schoolteacher for many years, died yesterday in Presentation Health Care Center. She was known in secular life as Pauline Goodale.
She was born in Leominster, daughter of Everett Goodale. She leaves her mother, Annie (Gettens) Goodale; four sisters, Sister Janice Goodale, with the Sisters of the Presentation, Madeline Loiselle, Marie Farnsworth and Eleanor Goodale, all of Leominster; nephews and nieces. She joined the Sisters of the Presentation 54 years ago. She graduated from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. and earned a master's degree in chemistry and mathematics from Villanova (Pa.) University.
Sister Goodale was a teacher at St. Bernard's Elementary School in Fitchburg, St. John's and Holy Rosary Elementary Schools in Clinton, and St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg. She was coordinator of Holy Family Convent in Fitchburg. She was an officer of Leominster Circle, Daughters of Isabella. She ministered at The Highlands Adult Day Center in Fitchburg for 5 1/2 years.
