  History of Rice County including Explorerers and Pioneers of Minnesota By Edward D. Neill 1882 Page 381 City of Faribault M. B. Haskell, a native of Kennebec county, Maine, dates his birth the 7th of May 1848, and was reared on a farm. In 1869m he came to Steele county and opened a small store at Medford. He was married on the 11th of October, 1869, his bride being Miss Etta C. Boyles. In 1871 he came to this place, and opened a confectionary store on a small scale, but by good management has increased his stock, and now carries a full line of fancy and staple groceries. Mr. and Mrs. Haskell have been blessed with three children.
