James W. Hoehn Jr., 85, died surrounded by family on July 24.
Born in Chatham, he lived in Denville in the 1950s, Little Silver during the 60s and 70s, Wheaton, Ill. through the 1980s and back to Denville in 1989.
He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Hoehn achieved a bachelor's degree from Monmouth University in 1970. He had worked as a purchasing manager at Bell Labs/Lucent in Holmdel and Naperville, Ill. for 37 years before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Indian Lake Community Club, Peace Pipe Golf Club and volunteered at the Superior Court in Morristown and the United Way, where he received a gold award.
Hoehn Jr. is survived by his children, James W. Hoehn III and his wife, Mary, Kathleen Rizzo, and Jacqueline and her husband, Andrew Mast; grandchildren, Kerry, Dallas and James W. Hoehn IV, Scott and his wife, Megan Rizzo, Andrew Jr. and Bailey Mast; great-grandchildren, Kristopher Hoehn and Ryder Rizzo.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eileen (Buckley) Hoehn, in 2001.
