  The Hartford Courant July 15, 2010. Francis E. Barlow, 94, of Manchester, passed away on Monday, (July 12, 2010). Francis was predeceased in 1994 by his beloved Osee Rock Barlow, with whom he shared fifty-five years of marriage. His great joy was his family: Alyce Barlow of Manchester, David and Jean Barlow, of Hockessin, Delaware, Malcolm and Susan Barlow of Manchester, Thomas and Annette Barlow of Manchester, Daniel and Diana Barlow of Bristol, Kathleen and Donald Wilby of Manchester, fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his younger sister, Alice Caywood and her late husband, Bill, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Francis's parents, Clarence and Margaret (Flavell) Barlow, raised their family of three children on Hamlin Street in Manchester. Both Francis and his late brother, Malcolm W. Barlow, helped out at Clarence's garage on Downtown Main Street. The family attended South Methodist Church. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1934, Francis went to school for radio and television repair. He operated Barlow's TV from 1951 to 1985, which was located in Buckland for many years. Francis owned and flew small aircraft, and he and Osee were avid square-dancers. He was a Red Sox fan, and followed the games on TV at Salmon Brook Nursing Home in Glastonbury, where he lived for the last fourteen years, and where he especially appreciated his friend George Sercombe.
