Earl F. McLaughlin, age 90, of Plymouth, formerly of Mashpee and Ashland, died Friday, December 23rd, at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
He was the devoted husband, of 70 years, to Dona (Vickery) McLaughlin.
Loving father of Earl F. McLaughlin Jr. and his wife Karen of Franklin, Colleen OBrien and her husband David of Framingham, Raymond McLaughlin and his wife Denene of Ames NY, David McLaughlin and his wife Terry of Plymouth, and Kevin McLaughlin and his wife Tere of Plymouth. Earl is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Born in Holyoke MA on December 19, 1926, son of the late Matthew and Nettie (Martin) McLaughlin.
He later went on to serve in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Admiral Sims, receiving the WWII Victory Medal, the American Area Medal, and the Asiatic Pacific Area Medal. Following the war, Earl worked for the Raytheon Company, and later owning and operating his own Shell Gas Station. He loved golf, and was an avid sports fan.
