He retired in 1986 as a purchasing manager at Scovill Manufacturing Co. He also worked at Wallace Silversmith in Meriden, Star Marine Hardware in Branford and Puritan Fireplace Furnishings in Wallingford. He was an Army Air Forces veteran. He leaves a son, Brook J. Tarbox Jr. of Harrisville, Utah; a daughter, Linda Tarbox of Cheshire; and two granddaughters. He was predeceased by a brother, George R. Tarbox Jr.
