Lucille D. Dunbar, 72, of Rochester Street died Tuesday at her home after a brief illness.
She was born in South Portland, a daughter of David and Effie Minott Day, and attended local schools.
Mrs. Dunbar was a homemaker all of her life. In addition to her own children, she also cared for five children of her late sister.
She also helped with the family business, the L.G. Stanton Monument Co.She was a member of Westbrook United Methodist Church, where she was treasurer for more than 30 years. She was also a member of the Women's Club and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge.
A son, Steven Dunbar, died in 1982.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Richard M. Dunbar; a son, David T. Dunbar of Westbrook; two daughters, Mrs. Everett (Carole) Millett of Windham and Mrs. Charles (Linda) LaFreniere of Westbrook; a brother, Richard Day of Westbrook; a sister, Annette Wendling of Richfield, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
