Winifred M. Bobolz, 84, of rural Janesville passed away Saturday morning, October 10, 2015 at Azura Memory Care in Clinton. Winifred was born in Bradford Township, Rock County, WI on May 6, 1931, the daughter of Walter and Eleanor (Dunn) Waite.
She attended schools in Clinton, WI and she graduated from Stout University in 1954 with a degree in Home Economics. She taught school in Florida, Georgia and Delavan, including the Delavan School for the Deaf.
Winifred married Paul Titus Bobolz on June 13, 1953 and they farmed together for 60 years. Winifred always enjoyed life on their farm; her special interests were identifying wild flowers and Wisconsin birds. Winifred was a 4-H conservation leader for several years, her and her sister Nell enjoyed working with 4-H and school aged children teaching them about nature and wild life and flowers. They lead numerous field trips through Carvers Rock Park and other natural lands. Both Winifred and her sister believed in teaching others about beautiful and natural growing things. In her leisure time, she grew day lilies, and she had over 100 varieties. Those who knew her well would remember her as loving to entertain and being an excellent cook and a good seamstress.
Winifred is survived by her sons, Randal (Jodie) Bobolz of Cambridge, WI, and Loren (Jan) Bobolz of Janesville, WI; three grandchildren Jacob, Kalyn and Neleah Bobolz; one brother, Leon (Jeanette) Waite of Avalon, WI, sister-in-law, Joan Waite of Clinton, WI; two brothers-in-law, Gerald (Linda) Ransom of Texas and Leland Peich of Avalon, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul T. Bobolz, her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Nell and Carl Noonan, her brother Gordon Waite and her brother-in-law Louie Bobolz.
