  Newsletter of the Haskell Family Society Volume 8, No. 4, December 1999 Freeman Haskell died following a tragic accident in which he fell against a saw in his own mill, entirely severing an arm. He survived only a few days and died on 2 December 1828, age 31. He was buried at LydonviIle. His brother, Sylvanus C. Haskell, succeeded him in his businesses but soon afterward sold out and moved west.
