He was born April 23, 1921 in Little Deer Isle, the son of Charles and Lucy (Eaton) Haskell. Pearl was a veteran of World War II, serving in France and the South Pacific. He was a lobster fisherman for many years until he relocated to Connecticut in 1969, He retired from General Dynamics in Groton, Conn. in 1983, after which time he returned to Deer Isle, during the summertime. Pearl was a member of the Restoration Church in Sunset. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Zella (Beat) Haskell of Deer Isle; three children, Roger Haskell and his wife, Ida of Deer Isle, Selene Hardy and her husband, Larry of Stonington, and Glen Haskell and his wife Julia of Gales Ferery, Conn.; six grandchildren, Jessica Gaffen and her husband, Adam of Dayton, Jennifer Vaughn and her husband Dave of Franklin, Janice and Jill Hardy of Stonington, William Haskell of Deer Isle, and Michael Haskell of Stonington; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Caitlyn Gaffen of Dayton; a brother Ulysses Haskell od Bucksport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
