IPSWICH - Lillian D. (Harris) Dunbar, 86, of long time resident of Ipswich, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, in the Beverly Hospital following her brief illness.
Born in Ipswich June 3, 1924, daughter of the late Fred D.and Mildred C. (Fewkes) Harris, she was a 1943 graduate of Ipswich public schools and a graduate of the New England Baptist School of Nursing. For most of her nursing career she was employed as a RN at the former Cable Memorial Hospital.
After her retirement she wintered in Leesburg, Fla. As a retired nurse she volunteered at a medical center in Leesburg.
Active in a variety of interests, she enjoyed quilting, knitting, home arts 'n crafts and tracking her favorite NASCAR driver. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. "Our Mom was a Rock Star" and she will be missed.
She is survived by three sons, John D. Greenhalgh and Diane of New Hampshire, Robert F. Greenhalgh and his companion Annmarie Baldisserotto of Rowley, Harold E. Greenhalgh of Ipswich, Joan E. Bishop and her husband Tom of Manchester, Susan A. Ainsworthandher husband Richard of Ipswich; three grandchildren Dawn D. Ames of Salisbury, Mickey Greenhalgh of Hampton, N.H., and Melissa Lane of Essex. Four great-grandchildren: Tori, Zach, Blain, Nicholas. And Priscilla R. Harris, sister, of Ipswich.
