  Faribault Daily News (MN) February 19, 2008 KENYON - John Hegseth, age 96, of Pine Island, a former resident of the Kenyon area, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. John Adolph Hegseth, the son of Peter and Josephine (Johnson) Hegseth, was born on July 6, 1911, in Goodhue County. On April 2, 1965, he was united in marriage to Margaret Cunningham in Sioux Falls, S.D. After their marriage both John and Margaret worked at Carleton College. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 17, 1995. He did volunteer work at the Pine Haven Care Center for the past 12 years. John received the WCCO Good Neighbor Award in 2007. He is survived by three step-daughters, Jean Leese of Northfield, Carol Cunningham of Cannon Falls and Rita Kay Smiph of Tampa, Fla.; many stepgrandchildren; brother, Philip (Jean) Hegseth of Pine Island; two sisters, Tillie Nyberg and Joyce Kihlgren both of Pine Island.
