  Portland Press Herald January 12, 1999 Mary F. Smith, 79, died Saturday at Market Square Health Center. She was born in Bethel, a daughter of Ormando and Florence Nutting Farwell. She attended school in Woodstock and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1938. Mrs. Smith worked at the B.E. Cole Shoe Shop in Norway and made her home in Lovell for many years before moving to South Paris in 1966. Her husband, Roy Smith, died previously. Surviving are a son, James Smith of South Paris; a sister, Deborah Eldredge of Unity; and four grandchildren, Richard Smith of South Paris, Pamela Smith of Waterford, Tracy Paradis and Amanda Smith, both of South Paris; and three great-grandsons.
