SOUTH PARIS, ME -- Harold V. Sinclair, 85, formerly of Roxbury for many years, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at his residence at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris, Maine.
He was born in Mexico, Maine on October 28, 1923, the son of William and Myrtie (Cole) Sinclair and had attended Mexico schools.
During World War II he proudly served as a PFC, US Army from 1943 to 1946 including overseas in Southern France and Rhineland. From 1960 until retirement he was a truck driver for Automobile Transport, Inc. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, camping, and RV'ing which included going to Alaska and across the United States.
He was married in Epinal, France on January 19, 1945 to the former Olga Y. Revelant , she died in Rumford, Maine on August 31, 2004.
Survivors include a son Gary Sinclair and wife Retha of Merrimack, NH; 6 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; brothers Marshall Sinclair and Thomas Sinclair and wife Marian of Mexico, ME; sisters Pauline Gotto and husband Robert, Barbara Bernard, and Joyce Stewart and husband Clifford all of Mexico, ME.
