  Find-a-Grave Diane Edna (DeBortoli) Eck stepped into heaven on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at the age of 64 with her loving family by her side. She was born Oct. 28, 1947, in Greenville, Calif., and raised her own family in Klamath Falls, Ore. She attended elementary schools in Chiloquin, Klamath Falls and Greenville. Diane graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1966, Southern Oregon University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1971, and Northern Arizona University with a master's degree in elementary education in 1976. Her first teaching assignment was at Keno Elementary School, later transferring to Ferguson Elementary School in Klamath Falls, where she retired after 30 years. Diane was a devoted and loving wife to Fred Louis Eck for over 31 years, the mother to Sara Johnson and Katie Kern, grandmother "Nana-Pepe" to Kyle and Whitney Johnson and Hailey and Kayla Kern. She lived for her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved camping, traveling, playing bingo, crafting, playing school and holding thumbs with her grandson, and buying beautiful dresses for her granddaughters. Diane is survived by her husband Fred; daughters and sons-in-law Sara Louise (Mark) Johnson of Klamath Falls and Katie Edna (Torren) Kern of Lacey, Wash. Her greatest joy and happiness was in her grandchildren Kyle Ryan and Whitney Grace Johnson of Klamath Falls and twin granddaughters Kayla Edna and Hailey Jane Kern of Lacey. Brothers and sister-in-law Albert Elido (Sue) DeBortoli of Great Falls, Mont., and Raymond Antonio (Laurie) DeBortoli of Klamath Falls; sister-in-law Anna Marie Kempf (Jerry) of Mesa, Ariz.; special aunts Elida Leggett of Klamath Falls and Laura Freeman of Susanville, Calif.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
