Charles F. Scully, 79, of Scituate, died Jan. 3, 2013, at Brigham & Womens Hospital, following a short illness.
He was the devoted husband of more than 57 years to Jacqueline M. (Burnham) Scully.
Born in Somerville, he was raised in Cambridge and graduated Cambridge High and Latin in 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged. Following his service, he was employed by New England Telephone from 1955-1987. Among his favorite things were family gatherings; traveling with his wife; living by the ocean in Scituate; the many good friends and neighbors hes had over the years; and, of course, the Patriots. Formerly of Weymouth, he resided in Scituate for the last 29 years and was an active communicant of St. Mary of the Nativity Church.
In addition to his dear wife Jacqueline, he is survived by his beloved sister, Dorothea Scully of Quincy; his adult children, Diane Scully and her husband John LaBrache of Kingston, Brian Scully and his wife Denise of Abington, Michael Scully and his wife Dianne of Hanson, John Scully and his wife Elizabeth of Holbrook, and James Scully of Largo, Fla. He was the cherished grandfather of Brian, Peter, Michael, Elizabeth, Meghan, Neil, Olivia and Noah; and great-grandfather of Tommy, Charlie, Bridget, Taylor, Molly and Charlie, and was eagerly anticipating the birth of his 7th great-grandchild.
