  Observer December 7, 1971 Winthrop — DeForest W. Tower, 68, died on Dec. 5, 1971 at the residence of Lyle Green, Route 3, Potsdam. He was born Sept. 21, 1903, in Dickinson Center, the son of Archie R. and Myrtle Morey Tower. He attended schools in Alburg. He married Miss Devora LaShomb of Winthrop many years ago. She passed away in 1940. Mr. Tower was employed by Gaines & Sherman in Potsdam for many years. Surviving was a son, Master Sgt. Jack A. Tower; a brother, Archie Tower; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Hartson and Mrs. Norma Lucente; three grandsons, several nieces and nephews.
