  Watertown Daily Times (NY) January 3, 1996 Gerald L. Webert, 70, formerly of Watertown, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Diane Allen, Skaneateles, where he had lived for the last few months. Surviving are two sons, David, Kirkville, and Stephen, Syracuse; a daughter, Diane M. Allen, Skaneateles; a sister, Shirley Starnes, Tampa, Fla.; and a grandson. Born Oct. 5, 1925, in Watertown, son of Ross and Christiana Webert, he graduated from Watertown High School in 1943. From 1943 to 1946 he served with the Navy. After discharge, he was a millwright at the former St. Regis Paper Mill. He was also a self-employed carpenter in the Watertown area. He married Phyllis A. Bailey on Sept. 21, 1946, at Deferiet Union Church with the Rev. W.A. Williams officiating. She died April 4, 1965. He married Julia Austin on Nov. 10, 1972. The marriage ended in divorce. He was a member of the North Side Improvement League and the Masonic Order.
