WINCHESTER – Grover H. Howe, 62, of 984 Keene Road, died April 29, 1994, at his home after a brief illness. Born in Troy, he was the son of David and Bertha (Haskell) Howe.
A resident of Winchester for the past five years, Mr. Howe moved there from Keene where he had lived for 32 years. He was educated in Troy schools.
Mr. Howe served as a sergeant with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of the Gordon-Bissell Post 4 American Legion in Keene and the Winchester Post Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Howe was the former owner of the Monadonock Fence Co. and was formerly employed by the Cheshire Oil Co, and Monadnock Fuel Oil Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Keene, and was an active member and past exalted ruler of the Keene Lodge of Elks 927.
Family members include his wife of 39 years, Amy (Saunders) Howe of Winchester; two sons, Bradley R. Howe of Winchester, and Darryl S. Howe of Walpole; two granddaughterts; four sisters, Eleanor Koski of Troy, Pearl Parmer of Geraldine, Ala., Charlotte Pafteris and Geraldine Donigan, both of Malden, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
