FRANKLIN- Delores (Lori) M. Wiese, 70, was granted her eternal rest on Tuesday, July 18th. She was born in Norwich, CT on September 29, 1946 to the late John and Mabel (Herrick) Snurkowski.
She was lovingly married to Leonard E. Wiese Sr for 38 years before he passed away.
She was fiercely loving of her four children and a devoted and fabulous grandmother. After running a business with her husband for 30+ years, Lori made the most of her retirement, traveling on their motorcycle with her husband and, later, dinner and traveling with her babci friends and volunteering at the local soup kitchen. She loved being active in any way, from four wheeling in Vermont with her daughter to mowing any lawn she could get her hands on! She was always up for an adventure such as horse carriage rides, making snow angels by moonlight with her grandchildren, and skiing the mountains of New England with her son. She battled ovarian cancer for 4 ½ years with great determination and vigor and was supported by family and friends, especially her sister, Donna, for the last difficult weeks of her life.
Lori is survived by her siblings Donna Snurkowski Smith of Wheeling, WV, and John Vincent Snurkowski Jr. of Norwich, CT. She is also survived by her four children, Sally and Mike Kropp of Norwich, Bonnie and Robert Tompkins of Groton, Leonard Wiese Jr and Dana Cushman of Ashaway, Rhode Island, and Kenneth and Jocelyn Wiese of DeLand, Florida. Lori left behind 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
