  THE AKRON BEACON JOURNAL December 29, 2003 Vergie M. Tawney, age 88, died Saturday, December 27, 2003 at the Gardens of Western Reserve. She was born February 23, 1915 in Mingo County, W.V., the daughter of the late Marion and Martiann Mullins. A Streetsboro resident since 1959, she had worked as the dining room manager at the Aurora Country Club and head waitress at the Holiday Inn on Route 8 in Hudson. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Streetsboro. Survived by her son, Joseph ( Bobbie ) Tawney of Streetsboro ; granddaughter, Tabitha Teter ; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Tawney in 1994.
