Edward A. Zimmerman, 65, St. Joseph, Mo., died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, after a brief illness at his home.
He was a pharmacist, having worked at Meuer Pharmacy, Katz Pharmacy, and as president and owner of Melmed Pharmacies Inc.
He was born on June 9, 1939, in St. Joseph. He grew up in Troy, Kan., and graduated from Troy High School and the University of Kansas Pharmacy School.
On Sept. 7, 1963, he married Ellen Thompson in St. Joseph. She survives of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Edward and Alberta Emma (Guthrie) Zimmerman.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the St. Joseph Stamp Club and several pharmacy organizations.
Additional survivors: his son, Gregg Zimmerman, and his wife, Heidi Ehly Zimmerman of Overland Park, Kan.; his daughter, Anne Z. Jezak, and her husband, Joseph A. Jezak of Roeland Park, Kan.; and four grandchildren, Maxwell Zimmerman, Lucille "Lucy" Zimmerman, Samuel Jezak and Andrew Jezak.
