Robert "Bob" Michael Cegon, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away due to complications after surgery at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea hospital on Nov. 24, 2015 at the age of 79.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minn. on June 15, 1936 to Michael William and Doris (Prebble) Cegon. Bob had two sisters and was the middle child.
He grew up in Little Falls, Minn. and joined the Marine Corps after high school.
Returning after his service, he married and raised a family in the Minneapolis suburb of Bloomington. He was a hard worker, employed in several professions, while his main focus and joy was with his immediate and extended family.
In 1985, after being married for the second time, he moved to Arizona and spent the past 21 years in Fountain Hills, the town in which he truly loved to live. Throughout his lifetime he loved to hike, fish, read, cook comfort food, enjoy nature, play card games and just enjoy being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of 31 years; four children (from his first marriage to Leota Donaldson), Robert L. (Lori) Cegon, Michelle Cegon, Angela (John) Butler, Tony (Star) Cegon; three step-children (from his current wife, JoAnn), Rick (Patti) Wedgeworth, Anthony (Tami) Wedgeworth, Kristina (Jeff) Walker; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was loved for his caring, quirky and upbeat personality, which he carried throughout his life and even throughout his battles with cancer over the past 21 years.
