  The Snyder Funeral Home Robert Virgil "Bob" Ackerman, age 73, of Mount Gilead Road, Fredericktown, Ohio passed away on Monday morning, May 26, 2008 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born on October 2, 1934 in Fredericktown, a son of the late Rex and Essie (Carr) Ackerman and grew up in the Waterford Area. Bob was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ in Williamsport, Ohio. Bob retired from General Motors in Ontario, Ohio. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Bob is survived by his children, Keith D. Ackerman of Fredericktown, Kevin L. Ackerman of Mount Vernon and Kelly (Jeff) Keener of Fredericktown; a grandson, Tyler Keener and a granddaughter, Taylor Keener both of Fredericktown; a sister, Kathryn Robinson of Mount Vernon; and a close friend and companion, Cheryl Wise of Fredericktown. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie E. (Maneese) Ackerman on March 2, 1999; a sister, June Randall; and a brother, Alton "Tony" Ackerman.
