  Find-a-Grave Marion E. LaKamp, 88, of Chapin died early Saturday morning, March 22, 2008 at Jacksonville Convalescent Center. She was born August 27, 1919 near Chapin the daughter of William and Daisy Taylor Anderson. She married Herman A. LaKamp on June 6, 1942 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2004. She is survived by one son, Robert (wife, Sheryl) LaKamp of Jacksonville; one daughter, Claudia Cannon of Chapin; 3 grandchildren, Alex LaKamp, Jessica LaKamp and Nick LaKamp. Mrs. LaKamp graduated from Chapin High School. She attended Illinois College for two years and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in elementary education in 1945 from Western Illinois University. She taught at Chapin Elementary School for 16 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Chapin. She enjoyed her family, friends, and the children she taught. After retiring from teaching she enjoyed many hours painting landscapes and flowers.
