He was born October 27, 1922 in Eddington, Maine to George and Esther Adams. He was a native of Hampden, Maine and a resident of Englewood, Florida since 1991. His first wife, Sophie, his son George R., III and his daughter Terrie all preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Alice, his devoted daughters Carolyn Adams of Santa Rosa, California, Barbara L. Adams of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Donna M. Adams of Cocoa, Florida; his much loved grandchildren Jennifer Groh, George Adams, IV and Sabrina Adams. His caring sister Arlene Hamilton of Huntington Beach, California and his brother Phil of Bangor, Maine and his step-daughters Nancy Furrough and Jan Spencer, step-sons Curtis and Gary Keller; Step-grandchildren Michelle, Colby, Seth, Ben, Brad, Lindsay, Tyler and Kimberly and step-great grandchildren, Joshua and Sadie. George was a man of many talents with a knack of making things work. He loved the wilderness and was an avid outdoorsman. He owned and operated the George R. Adams, Jr. Company, which installed and maintained gasoline service stations, as well as work with other petroleum based products.
