  Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram September 10, 2006 KENNEBUNK -- Robert W. Gould Sr., 77, a resident of the Port Rd. Kennebunk, and Oakhurst, N. J., died Friday Sept. 8, at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. He is the husband of Elaine Baum Gould. They were married for over fifty-five years. Mr. Gould was born in Portland, July 9, 1929, a son of George R. and Wyonna Strout Gould. He graduated from Deering High School and attended Bowdoin College. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was an instructor at the signal school at Fort Monmouth, N.J., where he retired after 30 years as the head of New Equipment Training. While working at Fort Monmouth he attended and graduated from Monmouth University with a degree in Physics. In his youth, he worked as a motion picture operator with his Dad and later at the former Brunswick and Eatontown, Drive In Theaters. In addition to his 30 years of Civil Service he always worked on his passion for inventing and holds one U.S. patent. He is survived by his wife Elaine Baum Gould of Kennebunk and Oakhurst, N.J.; one daughter, Wendy L. Gould of Sparta, N.J.; two sons, Robert W. Gould Jr. of Oakhurst, N.J., Michael W. Gould and his wife Kimberly Gould of Kennebunk; a brother, Philip Gould and his wife Trish of Rochester, N.H.; five Grandchildren , Samantha, Mikey, Danny, Jacob and Faith; one niece and two nephews also survive.
