Pauline A. (Thompson) Saunders, 88, of 9 Dixon St., Westerly, died Dec. 15, 2009, in The Westerly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Saunders.
Born in St. George, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Freland and Christie (Poland) Thompson A longtime and active member of the Central Baptist Church, she performed a great deal of volunteer work for the local Meals on Wheels program and the Warm Shelter. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family and extended family.
She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Bradford Saunders and his wife Karen of Harleysville, Pa., and Lindsay Saunders and his wife Rita of Westerly; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemarie Jones and her husband Edward of Plantsville, Conn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Thompson and his wife Jeanette of Winthrop, Maine; her twin sister, Josephine Harper of Lexington, Mass.; 11 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Pamela Lastes and Leonesse Meridith.
