  The Daily News (Longview, WA) February 22, 2001 Longtime local resident Grace C. Martin, 95, of Winlock, died Feb. 19, 2001, at a local nursing home. She was born Sept. 21, 1905, in Umatilla, Ore., to Thaddeous and Norma (Whiteman) Tillson. She lived in the local area for 75 years. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of the Toledo Gardening Club, Care and Share Club through the Toledo Senior Center and a longtime member of the Toledo Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and loved fishing and digging clams. She was a caring and loving person, strong in her Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Vivian E. Martin; a daughter, Annabelle Fish; a brother, Cloyd Tillson; and a sister, Dorothy Goldshmidt. Survivors include three grandsons, Arvid K. Smith of Abilene, Texas, Mike A. Smith of Winlock and Mark A. Smith of Toledo; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
