  Union Leader December 30, 2010 GOFFSTOWN -- Marjorie (Larsson) Holden, 88, died at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home on Dec. 27, 2010. She was born on Oct. 12, 1922, in Caribou, Maine, to Frank and Huldah (Storm) Larsson. She began school in her home town of New Sweden, Maine, and completed her public schooling as valedictorian of Caribou's Class of 1940. Three years later she graduated with honors from the Aroostook State Normal School in Presque Isle, Maine. She earned her bachelor's degree at Boston University with a concentration in music, and earned a master's of education degree at the University of Bridgeport. Her 25-year elementary school teaching career began in Washburn, Maine, and concluded in Greenwich, Conn. A talented pianist and conductor, she was called upon to be the music teacher for whatever grade she was teaching. Her final stint as a pianist was as a volunteer at the Lamb's Workshop, the nursery school at Bedford's Bethany Church. After World War II she married Edward F. Holden of South Weare, who survives her. IN HER LIFE: During their retirement, Marjorie and her husband made many trips to Europe, including to the homes where her paternal grandparents lived before emigrating to northern Maine. She was predeceased by her two sons, Frank in 2003 and Peter in 2008. In addition to her husband, she is survived by an older brother, John Larsson of Manchester, Conn.; three nieces, Norma Larsson of Fairfield, Maine, Joyce Allen of Presque Isle, Maine, Ellen Lunt of Cinton, Maine; two nephews, Donald Larsson of Bloomington, Minn., and David Larsson of Haddon Heights, N.J.
