Velma Charlotte Bowden Trundy passed away January 2, 2021 at the Northern Light Hospital in Bangor, Maine.
She was born on July 1, 1931 in Seal Harbor, the daughter of Everett Malcolm and Leona Josephine Billings Bowden.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Jeanette Bowden, her mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law Linnie and Eddie Velleca; a brother-in-law Colby C. Weed and a nephew Ronald Weed.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Donald M. Trundy; two daughters, Diane Trundy Billings (Arthur), Linda Trundy Weed (Jerry) and her special friend Carl Grahn; four grandchildren, Sara Krug and her husband Michael, Lori Murphy and her husband Patrick, Jessica Welsh and her husband William, Benjamin Weed and his wife Melissa; seven great-grandchildren, Emma and Andrew Weed, Jackson and Brayden Murphy, Kate, Lila and Liam Welsh. Two sisters survive her; Verna Erline Bowden Jordan (Paul); Merlene Faye Bowden Carlson (Richard); a sister-in-law Beverly Weed, several nieces and nephews and two special care-givers Jennifer Brown and Jennifer Niles. She was also predeceased by her maternal grandparents Captain Philip Ranson and Bertha Evelyn Shepard Billings and Aunt Nora Evelyn Billings Withee.
Velma worked for her mother-in-law, Linnie Velleca at the laundry and later at the Stonington Packing Company. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS) in Stonington. Velma was a stay-at-home mom who dedicated her life to taking care of her two daughters and four grandchildren. Velma enjoyed eating at the Bagaduce Lunch in Brooksville as often as possible. She was a fabulous cook and famous for her "Grammie bread." She enjoyed knitting mittens for her children and grandchildren. She loved Beagle dogs and walking outside.
