He was born May 14, 1925, in Rockland, Maine and came to Palmetto seven-and-a-half years ago from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He retired after 29 years from Hudson River Psychiatry Center in Poughkeepsie. He was past master of Triune-Obed Masonic Lodge and past commander of the John Livingston American Legion Post, both in Poughkeepsie. He received a bachelor's degree in community mental health from SUNY in New Paltz, N.Y., and an associates degree from Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Phyllis; a stepdaughter, Luann Wohlbach of Poughkeepsie; a stepson, Craig Rider of Sherman, N.Y.; sisters Gloria Hunter of Port Charlotte and Greta Drioun of Augusta, Maine; and two grandchildren.
