LeROY — Wanda R. Dean, 94, of Bloomington, formerly of LeRoy, passed away at 3:25 a.m. Wednesday (March 27, 2019) at Martin Health Center, Bloomington.
Wanda was born April 19, 1924, in LeRoy, a daughter of Leland and Bertha Oneal Razor.
She married Donald Eugene Dean on Dec. 21, 1947, in Bloomington. He passed away May 16, 2009.
Survived by her children, Dena S. (Keith) Swigart, Bloomington; Richard L. (Barbara) Dean, LeRoy; William Randall (Christine) Dean, Farmer City; Robin L. (Mark) Beyer, Bloomington; and Donna M. (Bruce) Johnson, St. Augustine, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, Kristen (Nate) Myers, Michael Brett (Cindy) Swigart, Kimberly (Dustin) Hicks, Kara (Luke) Kasten, Leland (Chelsea) Dean, Brittany (Jarrod) Carter, Abby (Jeff) Hendren, Derek Dean, Amanda Bryant, Brack Dean, Caleb (Tina) Dean, Justin (Megan) Beyer, Ashley Beyer, Jenelle (Carl) Beckstrom, Jason (Tina) Halm and John (Emily)Halm; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Wanda was a 1941 graduate of LeRoy High School and a 1948 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan with a BS degree.
Wanda had been a stewardess for United Air Lines. She also was a retired teacher.
Wanda was a member of the First United Methodist Church of LeRoy; member of the Jr. Mothers Club, Empire Social Club and the Family & Consumer Science Professionals Club. She served on The Baby Fold Board, Normal, and the District Conference Office of United Methodist Women.
Wanda was a mother and an avid farm wife for many years.
