  Tributes.com Glenn O. Carnes, 87, of Piqua, died at 7:31 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. He was born December 27, 1921, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to the late Leslie and Clarah Alberta (Wilson) Carnes. He married Margaret L. Hetzler on July 20, 1945 in Harrisburg, Illinois; she preceded in death on July 14, 1989. Mr. Carnes is survived by two sons, Audie (Jackie) Carnes of Piqua, Bruce (Elaine) Carnes of Piqua; a daughter, Linda (Larry) Nelson of Jonesboro, Tenn.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale (Dixie) Carnes of Greenfield, Ind.; and a sister, Edith England of Piqua. Glenn was a 1940 graduate of Harrisburg High School in Illinois and served five years in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from A.O. Smith, Tipp City, after many years as a repairman.
