Mrs. Anna Josephine Lopez, 79 died in the compassionate care of the Scallop Shell Nursing Home in Peacedale, RI after a year long bout with cancer.
Born on August 14, 1924 in Hartford, Anna was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Marco. The first of two children, Anna was brought up in Hartford, attending local schools and graduated from Hartford High School.
She married William Louis Lopez when she lived in Hartford and moved to Manchester and finally moving to Bolton. Both Anna and Bill retired to their summer residence in Charlestown, RI and visiting Holiday, FL in the winter months.
Anna was a tireless worker, bringing up six children while working for the Hartford Times, Pratt and Whitney and the Aetna Insurance Company. Anna had a truly unique personality, you always knew if she was in the room.
In addition to her predeceased husband and parents, Anna has one very special sister, Mrs. Margaret Galiette, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
She is survived by her five children; Ms. Cheryl Schreindorfer of Springfield, MA, Mrs. Pamela Franeski and her husband Pete of Colchester, Mr. William Gary Lopez of Wethersfield, Ms. Bonnie Lee Ann Lopez of Springfield, VT and Ms. Cindy Lou Devona and her husband Nate of Groton, CT. Scott Allen Lopez her son, predeceased her. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Mr. Christian Greaves, Mr. John Schreindorfer, Mr. Peter Franeski; Ms. Jennifer Vendrillo and Mr. Adam Franeski; and two great grandchildren. Anna has many wonderful nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was especially close to Ms. Lillian Lopez of Glastonbury and Mr. Joseph Galiette and Mr. Peter Galiette of Florida.
