Margaret Peggy Langmaid Blunt, 81, of Marblehead, died September 12, 2005, at the Devereux House in Marblehead. She was the wife of the late Captain Thomas D. Blunt, U.S. Merchant Marine.
Born in Beverly, September 3, 1924, Mrs. Blunt was the daughter of the late Harold Dick Langmaid and Ruth P. (Pickering) Langmaid.
She grew up in Marblehead and attended Marblehead schools.
She was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots and especially the Bruins. She also enjoyed playing bingo and knitting.
Mrs. Blunt will be deeply missed by her three children, Katherine Shepherd and her husband, Steven, of Swampscott, Margot Kingston and her husband, Charles, of Georgetown, and Joseph Blunt and his wife, Pamela, of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Hank Derby of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Emily Kingston of Georgetown, Matthew Kingston of Haverhill, Cynthia Blunt of Jacksonville, Fla., and Daniel Dungan of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
