Clara Murphy, 59, of Moravia, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Clara was born June 17, 1948 in Norwich, Conn., and lived in Moravia since 1979. She was a homemaker and employee of the Modern Market Store in Moravia. She was a member of the Women"s Golf League at Fillmore Golf Course and VFW Post No. 7127 Ladies Auxiliary.
Clara is survived by her husband, Thomas Murphy, and three sons, Thomas (Loren) Murphy II, Shawn Murphy, all of Moravia and Michael Murphy, of Locke; her mother, Marion Pendleton, of Voluntown, Conn.; sisters and brothers, Evelyn Howe, of Evart, Mich., Harold Pendleton, of Jonesboro, Tenn., Peggy Picco, of Griswold, Conn., Bradley Pendleton, of Voluntown, Conn., Laura Stroh, of Great Falls, Mont., Martha Laney, of Canterbury, Conn., Kathleen Brown, of Grafton, W.Va., George, Michael, Charlie, Fred and Donald Pendleton, all of Griswold, Conn., Maryann Mickey, of Voluntown, Conn., Nancy Langlois, of Griswold, Conn. and Melissa Rain, of Voluntown, Conn.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and in-laws.
She was predeceased by her father, Harold Stanley Pendleton in 1987; and a sister, Sarah Sloan in 2002.
