  Great Bend Tribune (Kansas) July 7, 2010 HOISINGTON — Cecilia T. Carroll, 89, died July 4 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend. She was born Dec. 2, 1920, at Hoisington, the daughter of Frank and Caroline (Miller) Preisner. She married James W. "Pete" Carroll on June 22, 1941, at Hoisington. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2002. A lifetime resident of Hoisington, she was a homemaker and former dispatcher for the Hoisington Police Department. Mrs. Carroll was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella, and was active in the Hoisington Food Bank and Heritage Senior Center, all of Hoisington. Survivors include two sons, Walter Carroll, Hoisington, and Dennis Carroll, Kiowa; one brother, Frank Preisner, Great Bend; two daughters, Joyce Hibbs, Alva, Okla., and Sharon Krumm, Grinnell, Iowa; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant sons Thomas and John Carroll; a grandson, Jacky Summers; and five sisters, Annie Freidel, Othilda Steffen, Walburga Alexander, Emma Plunkett and Mary Steffen.
