  Peekskill Evening Star March 15,1945 Private First Class Robert E. Ames, son of Mrs. Florence Banker, of 300 Highland Avenue, and the late Edward was' killed in action in Europe, according to word sent to Peekskill last night by his sister. "Bob", who was about 30 years old. was well known here, where: he was bom and educated. He was an attendant at the L. B. gas station, Main Street, prior to leaving Peekill. He married later upon entering the service. His father. Edward Ames. was. manager of the Stanton Brewing Co. in Peekskill for years. "Bob"' is survived by his mother, Mrs. Florence Anderson Banker, of Peekskill: two sisters. Mrs. Henry (Ruth) Bach, of Chipowee Fails, Mass.. and Mrs. Robert (Florence) Graham, of the Bronx; a half brother. Frederick.Anderson Banker, and two half sisters.
