BRAINTREE Marie Louise (MaryLou) Curran-Hodgkins of Bourne, formerly of Braintree and Cohasset, age 81, died at the Falmouth Hospital on October 22, 2009.
Wife of Kenneth L. Hodgkins. Sister of the late Benjamin J. Curran of Braintree and the late Captain James H. Curran, Jr., USN, Retired of Bellevue, WA. Mary Lou is survived by many nieces and nephews; Diane Curran Richard of Sagamore Beach; MaryAnne Curran Anderson of Cedarville; Maureen Curran Cavanaugh, Springvale, ME; Benjamin Curran III of Lyme, NH; James H. Curran III of Kenmore, WA; Robert R. Fox Curran, Seattle, WA, Lucinda Bamburg, Bellview, WA and Lael Louisa Bennett, Bellevue, WA and 15 grand nieces and nephews.
MaryLou worked for Hinckley & Woods Insurance in Boston from 1946-1951, 14 years at Industrial Safety Offices at the Naval Ammunition Depot in Hingham, First Coast Guard District and Naval Base, Newport, Rhode Island. She also worked at 1st Naval District Office, USN Sup Ships, Quincy and at the Office of Chaplains, Naval Air Station, South Weymouth for 12 years before retiring in 1984. She was a volunteer at the Navy Relief Society in So. Weymouth and Office of Elder Affairs as a Nursing Home Ombudsman for South Shore Elder Services for 14 years including Transitional Care Units at three area hospitals until 2001.
