Miriam Edmunds LeBaron, most recently of Marshall, VA died Saturday evening, December 23, 2017 at the age of 93.
Miriam Avis was born August 26, 1924 in New London, NH to Ervin and Verna Edmunds and was an only child. Miriam (Mim) grew up in New London during the Great Depression however was fortunate that her father was the owner of New London's sole grocery. That said, "waste not, want not" was a life- long practice for Mim. During World War II she attended Middlebury College in VT and earned a BA in Life Sciences. Upon graduation she worked at Boston General as a dietician.
On June 14, 1947 Miriam married John Edward LeBaron whom she had met while at Middlebury.
Jack's avocation was in hotel administration and he and Mim spent the next 7 years at Inns/Hotels in Waterville Valley, NH, Kennebunkport, ME, Delray Beach FL before settling in Exeter, NH managing the Exeter Inn in 1954. During this time they had four children. Miriam became a realtor and opened Windsor Court Realty, which she operated for 15 years before "retiring" to manage several family business endeavors. In 1992 she and Jack retired to Stratham, NH. In 2011 Miriam moved to Marshall, VA where she lived until her death on December 23.
Miriam is survived by her daughter Colby Howell and sons Alden & Richard LeBaron. She also is survived by daughters-in-law, Joy, Carole & Pam; son-in-law, Charles plus many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also she defacto adopted Bobby Goldman who she adored.
Mim was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward LeBaron in 1998 as well as by her son John Ervin LeBaron in 2016.
Miriam was an avid bridge player, gardener and mother. She was a stubborn Yankee who enjoyed politics so long as they were conservative in nature. She was selfless and took many under her wing who needed help whether they knew it or not.
