Mrs. Ronald J. Maroney, the former Marjorie Eastman, a resident of 20 Pageant St., Bennington, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital late Wednesday afternoon after a long illness.
Born in Shaftsbury Feb 3, 1925, she was the daughter of Walter Eastman and the former Rose Squires.
Her early education was received in Shaftsbury and she was a graduate of North Bennington High School. Mrs. Maroney attended nurses training at St. Luke's Hospital in Pittsfield, Mass., and on Nov 10, 1946, she married Mr. Maroney.
Employed for many years at BenMont Paper Co., she was employed at Union Carbide Corp. until her illness.
Survivors besides her husband include four daughters, Mrs. Donna Archibald, Linda, Barbara and Karen Maroney, all of Bennington; two sons, Michael and Timothy, both of Bennington; a sister, Hazel Guetti, and two brothers, Roland and Harry Eastman, all of Bennington; a stepbrother, Howard Thomas, and a stepsister, Nora Foster, both of Arlington; three granddaughters; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
