GREENWICH * Michael J. Cronin, 55, of Overlook Avenue, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness.
Born April 19, 1951, in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Jeremiah Cronin and Annabell Cronin Flynn.
Mr. Cronin was a graduate of Greenwich Central School and was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Greenwich.
He retired from the Greenwich DPW as Water/Waste Water Treatment operator. He was also a member of Greenwich Elks Lodge No. 2223 BPOE.
Michael loved his family and found great joy in his two granddaughters. He took pride in knowing a great deal about the Greenwich Community and in most recent years would read everything that could be found about local history. Michael was known for always helping out his friends. He was an avid sports fan and loved his days boating on the Hudson. He will be greatly missed by those who shared his life.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Cronin.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years Frances (McCormick) Cronin; his children, Benjamin Cronin and his wife, Angela, and Matthew Cronin, all of Greenwich; one sister, Susan Cronin of Greenwich; one brother, Jeremiah Cronin of Greenwich; granddaughters, Emma and Megan Cronin of Greenwich; and several nieces and nephews.
