  Rutland Herald (VT) February 14, 2002 PUTNEY - Stephen M. King, 60, died Feb. 14, 2002, at Hanover Terrace in Hanover, N.H., from Alzheimer's disease. He was born Jan. 9, 1942, in Greenfield, Mass., the son of Clarence and Jeanette (Ingram) King. He graduated from Brattleboro Union High School. He married Janice West on Jan. 26, 1963, in Kissimmee, Fla. Mr. King drove tractor-trailer trucks in Florida for several months and after returning to Vermont, he worked for Putney Paper Co. He later established his own business, King Builders, retiring in 1996 after 30 years as a building contractor. He also poured concrete for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. King served as a Putney town lister for one term. nHe enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and was an avid country and western music fan. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bradley King of East Dummerston; a daughter, Janet Snow of East Dummerston; a daughter from a previous marriage; three sisters, Carolyn O'Driscoll of Ludlow, Mass., Janice Stockwell and Virginia Hale, both of East Putney; four grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph King; and three sisters, Janet King, Gloria King and June Lunn.
