The Reverend Colin Raymond McKeighan, pastor of Jacob's Well in Cambridge, NY passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday July 20, 2013, he was 67, though he had been battling health issues, his passing came unexpectedly.
He was born in Bennington on September 23, 1945, the son of the late Floyd McKeighan and Ruth (Johnson) McKeighan Kessick who survives. He grew up in Arlington where he graduated Arlington High School, he then entered the US Air Force where he served as a jet engine mechanic from 1963 until 1967, during this time he was sent to the Philippines to diagnose a major problem with several aircraft.
In addition to Jacob's Well, he was pastor of the Grace-Full Dancers and ministered as a lay leader at Shaftsbury Methodist Church. He had worked at Pratt & Whitney, Orvis Company, Hale Company and WCW Inc.
Colin had been the camera man and sound technician for Public Access channel 12 (now CAT TV). The ministry and church were his life, he enjoyed everyone he met and also loved to rib people and enjoy their reaction.
He leaves his wife Bonita Corey McKeighan, mother Ruth Kessick of Arlington, siblings David McKeighan of Shaftsbury, Robert McKeighan of Arlington and Diane MacIntyre of Middlebury, step children Marcy Young of Pawlet, Randy Young of Clarendon, Thomas Croft of Arlington and Jamie Sweet of Glens Falls, step grandchildren Robert, Darren, Tristan, Amber, Copper, Breanna, RJ, and Haley, god son Zack, nieces, nephews, cousins and many spiritual children, he loved with all his heart.
