  Portland Press Herald (ME) July 10, 1999 Leo C. Hemingway Jr., 77, of Main Street died Friday at Stephens Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for several days. He was born at Milton Plantation, a son of the Leo and Myra Downing Hemingway, and attended Norway schools. He was employed as a shoe worker and also worked for Bath Iron Works and Cornwalls, from which he retired. He also owned and operated the Pine Grove Variety Store with his wife, the former Louise Blaquiere, whom he married on Aug. 2, 1940. She died in 1989. Mr. Hemingway was a veteran of the Army and served in Europe with the infantry during World War II. He had been a resident of Oxford for more than a half-century, most recently residing at Oxford Meadows. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, South Paris, the Foster-Carroll Post of the American Legion, South Paris, and a former member of the Maine Country Music Association. He was the close friend of Margaret Larrabee of Norway. A granddaughter, Louise Ethel Hemingway, died previously Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Donovan (Lorelei) Dodge Sr. of South Paris, Mrs. Gordon (Lolalee) Dillingham of South Woodstock and Lorri Parlin of Hebron; one brother, Clyde W. Hemingway of Norway; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great- grandchildren.
