  North Adams Transcript June 23, 2004 Richard Stantwood Treadway, 25, of Route 5 Wilder, Vt., died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at his home. Born in Southbridge on Nov. 29, 1978, he was a son of Richard and Andrea (DeCarli) Treadway. He attended schools in Sturbridge. He graduated from Tantasqua High School in 1998. While in high school he was a prominent athlete, in his senior year he was the captain of both the football and baseball teams, and he was awarded the MVP game trophy in football his senior year. He was also active in theatre and he acted in several productions throughout high school. For the last several years he resided in northern Vermont and New Hampshire. He was an avid snow boarder. He was employed at the Ascutney Mountain Resort where he operated the ski lift. He was a dedicated father to his three-year-old son Ian, a loving partner to his fiancée, Nakita, and a strong and supportive son and brother to his parents Dick and Andrea and his brother Mario. He was an enthusiastic fan of all varieties of music, but he was especially fond of hip hop, he attended concerts and often entertained friends and family with creative rhyme schemes. His humor, loyalty, and courage endeared him to friends and family alike. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Andrea (DeCarli) Treadway; a brother, Mario Treadway of North Adams; his fiancée Nakita Thifell; a son, Ian Michael Treadway and Ian's mother, Kassandra Bell; stepbrother and stepsisters, Richard D. Treadway, Mary Elizabeth Treadway, and Tim and Katie Welch; his grandparents, Joan and Mario DeCarli; his uncles, John B. Treadway, Timothy Treadway, Gerald DeCarli and Mario DeCarli; great uncle, Richard Fowle Treadway; aunts, Laurie Treadway Moreno and Maryellen Treadway; great aunt, Jane Treadway; and many friends in the area. His paternal grandparents, Louise (Bosworth) Treadway and John Fowle Treadway, are deceased.
